Today I am sharing a fun way to create fashion and ART with kids. I have been trying to keep up with our Summer Bucket list since this is a difference type of summer break with covid! Can you believe August will be here next week?! Anyway, let’s get back on track and dive in:
- We decided to tie dye Nike socks vs. t-shirts and for some reason all of the tie dye in stores are practically sold out!
- I purchased an XL tide kit from Amazon you can shop my affiliate link here , this kit is perfect for lots of projects and since I have 50 eleven kids, it was exactly what we needed. Since the exact kit I ordered was sold out I included a more reasonable kit. Like I said… everyone one is buying tie dye right now.
- First add the water to your tie dye bottles, make sure your tops are on securely and shake the bottles to mix thoroughly.
- While the dye sits, you want to put rubber bands on the socks according to your design preference.
- Next you want to grab gloves and get to squirting. Ok.. that might have sounded a bit off but you know what I mean!
- We decided to add dye while the socks were in old grocery bags. Since we are working with kids, this helps to keep your space clean.
- Typically you can let your dye sit 6-8 hours, or if you’re like me let them sit overnight.
- I washed the socks first thing in the morning then dried and they were PERFECT!!!
- After your socks are dry, be sure to rock your socks and style accordingly.
I hope you enjoyed this quick and easy DIY, we surely did and we look forward to styling our socks with outfits later this week so stay tuned on IG! Until next time……..

Meka
