Sundays are my holy grail of chill.
Not for scrubbing floors or tackling a never-ending to-do list. Nope, it’s all about kicking back and truly resting. Because with rheumatoid arthritis, even when I look like I’ve got it together, my body’s in a constant battle.
Fatigue? It’s not just feeling sleepy. It’s waking up like you’ve just finished a marathon, only you’ve been napping. It’s grinning through joint pain while hustling four kids out the door. It’s grinding through work and Pilates certification on Thursdays when every bone is screaming for a break.
RA doesn’t allow lazy days… it demands them. Trying to explain it? Forget it. Unless you’re in this body, you just won’t get it.
So, I’ve ditched the explanations. I’m guarding my rest like it’s the crown jewels.
I rest to show up.
I rest to teach.
I rest so I can keep moving.
If you’re wiped out and can’t find the words, here’s your golden ticket to stop proving and start honoring your body.
