I am a firm believer that when you get your children involved with chores at an early age, it will teach them a sense of ownership and pride. So today I am sharing the chores that I have the kids do around the house to help me stay sane…..
Here are seven ways, I get my kids to help around the house:
- Unload and Load the dishwasher – Elle puts up dishes and Maveric puts up the utensils.
- Clean their room/ playroom – this is a never ending task for us in the playroom
- Vacuum- the boys have always loved to vacuum, this is an easy task to pass on to them, yeah you might have to go behind them but at least it gives them some practice.
- Take out the recyclables – Axel and Jagger take out the recyclables they take pride in this job.
- Take out the trash – Elle and Maveric collect all of the trash from different trash cans throughout the house as we prep for trash collection.
- Put up clothes – On laundry day, I will have the boys put up their play clothes in little bins, and I put up the rest. Elle is a pro and she knows how to wash her own clothes.
- Wash the table before/after dinner- this is Maveric’s task since he is very particular about cleanliness.
Ok that’s it 7 quick and easy chores that will help build character in children. Did I miss anything? What chores have you incorporated into your household? Until next time….
XO,
Meka
