Cheers to the weekend!!! I’ve always loved weekends, although, everyday now feels like the weekend since I am home with kids, it’s still fun to have our Friday traditions. We love to get pizza on Friday nights and check out a family movie. And sometimes I just want to watch a movie ALONE, so I will send the kids off to the playroom. Here are 5 ways to make the most out of your weekend:
Check out The Babysitters Club on Netflix: I watched this with Elle because she loves the books just like I did growing up. This version has been updated of course to reflect current topics that parents may want to have with their children. Some topics to expect are : LBQT, health issues, divorce, menstrual cycles, racism, and preteen love just to name a few. I think this is a great way to have these tough discussions with your child as you watch.
Clean out the garage: Now this is something that has been on my to do list FOREVER and I’m pretty embarrassed when one of my kids opens the garage to get their scooters. It’s to the point that I want to just throw the entire garage away! It’s THAT bad…….. It’s just a bit harder to get it organized now since it’s so hot and our only options are early morning or late night sessions.
Get your body moving: Since we got our Peloton I have truly been motivated to workout. I have literally seen first hand the positive effects of cycling daily. My stamina is up and my waist is getting SNATCHED! I realize everyone doesn’t have a Peloton, so of course the key phrase is moving your body, take a hike, a walk with the family, ride bikes together or have a family workout session.
Road Trip: We have to give ourselves some grace, we have been in the house for months, why not take the time to go somewhere, take a day trip to a local city or if you’re feeling funky roll out to the next state and explore. Don’t forget your mask and to stay socially distant. We live 2 hours from the beach so that is on the agenda next week! I plan on going early during the week to avoid crowds and of course we will be socially distant.
REST: Do nothing, rest your mind, meditate, sleep in if you can and enjoy peace as you rightfully deserve.
So what’s on your agenda this weekend? Let me know in the comments below, you might have an idea that I need! Until next time….
