We went to the beach during a pandemic

That’s right you read the title correctly! We absolutely went to the beach during a pandemic. Now before you start rolling your eyes, just know that we took several precautions! For one, we chose to go to a more secluded beach. We visited Fort Fisher, which for us is just like driving to Winston-Salem as far as time. Since the trip is shorter than a trip to Charlotte we decided to go for the day and boy was it worth it! I will admit that I thought It was crazy seeing all of the people in Florida at the beach while it was crowed. But I am tired of living in fear, I knew exactly what we needed to do to keep our family safe, while creating memories. As always, I am going to make this quick and to the point so let’s dive in:

1. We went for the day, left early in the morning and made it home by 9:30 pm.
2. We packed all of our snacks the morning of! Tons of water, juice boxes, etc…
3. For food we packed PB&J (we didn’t make them ahead we just packed supplies), we took rotisserie chicken, as well as mac and cheese that we bought from Whole Foods ( yeah we like good food ok ) when we arrived to the beach. I also packed salads from Trader Joes and tons of apple sauce packs, chips, fruit snacks etc.
4. Thankfully we chose a more secluded beach, so it was not crowded at all. This gave me so much peace.
5. I must admit, going to the beach was exactly what we needed! The kids had a ball and the sunshine felt so good!
6. After we left the beach, we stopped at a local restaurant, we ordered food and ate in the car then headed home.

I am so happy that we decided to take this day trip, I mean just look at my babies smiles. They played so hard in the ocean it was truly memory for a lifetime. Dear Covid summer, you will not ruin our family time. Until next time…..
